I’m not a big fan of practical jokes, but my wife is a lifelong practical joker. So, every now wand then, I have to get her back. The first year we cured our own olives, she got me good. It takes the better part of a month, usually longer, to make olives palatable. After about 5 days, she tasted one, and proclaimed they were ready and tasted great. She sold it so well, that I bought into it and chomped down on one… only to discover the bitterness and an ever widening grin on her face. Like the Italians are famed for saying “Revenge is a dish better served cold”.
